Organization

The Global Studies Foundation (GSF) is a nonpartisan, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization that promotes learning, understanding, and preparedness for living in our complex world. Based in Concord, New Hampshire, GSF works nationally with schools, educators, students, and concerned citizens, as well as with public institutions and other nonprofit agencies, to generate and share scientific knowledge and to improve the American public's understanding of international affairs.

More concretely, recognizing the increasing connections between the United States and the rest of the world and striving for a better prepared citizenry, GSF pursues four fundamental objectives:

  • To promote global studies as a curricular movement at all educational levels;
  • To facilitate teaching and learning about the world - its geography, history, economics, politics, languages, and international relations;
  • To enrich social studies education by expanding its global orientation and by highlighting the vital role of nonlinear dynamics in complex systems;
  • To cultivate in students an awareness of global issues and a knowledge base of facts, concepts, and skills that will enable them to act as informed and involved citizens.

To pursue these objectives, GSF currently operates three corporate divisions - research, programs, and philanthropy - with plans to expand the scope of these operations significantly in the future, including overseas.

For more information about GSF's operations or about the leadership team that directs them, please explore the different sections of our website, submit our online information form, or contact us directly.
